Martin Gasser - alto saxophone

* 1990 in Villach (A), lives in Cologne/Köln (D)

Martin Gasser studied saxophone in Klagenfurt and Vienna, and jazz composition in Cologne. He's a winner of several competitions as a soloist (Fidelio 2012) and as a bandleader of his own quartet (Jazz-Contest Mechelen 2015, HfM Jazzpreis Saarbrücken 2015). He also was a member of international big-band-projects (Jeunesse World Jazz-Orchestra, European Jazz Orchestra). Today Gasser is working as a freelance musician based in Cologne (bandleader with the Martin Gasser Quartet) or as a sideman (Booxy's Box, Subway Jazz-Orchestra, Roland Batik New Quartet, Glenn Miller Orchestra).


Philipp Jagschitz - piano

* 1981 in Burgenland, lives in Mattersburg (A)

Philipp Jagschitz is a pianist, keyboardist and composer, working primarily in the fields of jazz and improvised music. In 2010 he finished his jazz studies in Vienna and Gothenburg, Sweden.


He is the leader of his own trio, and a band member of: MEMPLEX, The Cotton Lickers, Die Präsidenten, and has collaborated with: Wolfgang Puschnig, Jazzwerkstatt Wien, Clemens Salesny,  Lorenz Raab, Gerald Gradwohl, Ulrich Drechsler, Bastian Stein, Julia Sitz, Viola Falb, Maja Osojnik, Oscar Klein, Adam Holzman, Garish, Serge Falck, Sona MacDonald. He frequently works in Viennese theaters Burgtheater, Volkstheater, Raimundtheater and Kammerspiele.

 

 


Andreas Waelti - double bass

* 1980 in Thun (CH), lives in Vienna (A)

After finishing his studies in Bern, Basel and Berlin, Swiss born bassist Andreas Waelti moved to Berlin permanently. In the following five years he performed with several Berlin based bands and did extensive touring all over Europe, Asia and South America. He was a member of the «Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra» and worked together with bands like «The Notwist» and singer/songwriters such as Francesco Wilking. In 2006 he formed his own band «Transit Room» which had its debut album released on Doublemoon Records «Jazz thing Next Generation» with considerable success. The group performed over fifty concerts and released two albums. Since 2011 he has been a lecturer for theory, harmony, composition and ensemble at the Deutsche Pop Academy in Vienna. He has worked with musicians such as Will Vinson, Theodosii Spassov, Colin Vallon, Pablo Held, Michael Wollny, Andreas Schaerer, Wolfgang Haffner, Sebastian Sternal, Fabian Rucker.

 


Daniel "Booxy" Aebi - drums

* 1973 in Bern (CH), lives in Vienna (A)

Daniel Aebi is a powerful drummer with an open spirit and plenty of soul. He studied in Bern and at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He won the 2nd prize as a soloist and the 1st prize as a sideman at the "Chrysler Jazz Winners" contest, Montreux in 2000. Booxy is a founding member of the renowned Swiss funk/pop act Grand Mother's Funck and was their musical director/producer for three albums. He has also worked with the Afro-soul band Nilsa, Sandro Schneebeli, Brandy Butler and many more.  In 1998 Aebi performed with the Swiss Jazz School Big Band (leader: Bert Joris) at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Birdland in New York City, with special guests Clark Terry and Bob Mintzer. From 2000 through 2012 he has been working intensively with Joe Haider, as well as other European jazz legends such as Andy Scherrer, George Gruntz and Paul Haag's Twobones. Aebi moved to Vienna in 2013 where he has been playing with Herwig Gradischnig, Elias Meiri, Daniel Nösig, Christian Havel, Fabian Rucker, Tonc Feinig.
